Uses:
Carbon monoxide is the main component of synthesis gas and various types of coal gas, an important raw material for organic chemical industry, and the basis of C1 chemistry. It can be used to manufacture a series of products, such as methanol, acetic acid, phosgene, etc. It is used as a reducing agent in the metallurgical industry. The main industrialized C1 chemical production technologies currently include:
(1) acetic acid synthesis.
(2) acetic anhydride synthesis.
(3) oxalic acid synthesis.
(4) Fischer-Tropsch synthesis.
(5) Mobil process.
Uses
1. Used in the production of sodium formate and as a reducing agent in the metallurgical industry
2. Used as a reducing agent in the metallurgical industry
Production method
Carbon monoxide is produced in many industrial processes, such as synthetic ammonia raw gas, yellow phosphorus production tail gas, and blast furnace gas and converter gas in the steel industry. In terms of carbon monoxide resources, steel plant gas is huge. In situations where the purity of carbon monoxide is high and the demand is not particularly large, carbon monoxide production equipment is often established, or by-product coal gas with lower processing costs is used. Commonly used methods are as follows.
1. Coke oxygen method
2. Carbon dioxide and charcoal reduction method Carbon dioxide is reduced to carbon monoxide when it is introduced into the charcoal layer of the electric furnace
3. Synthetic ammonia copper washing regeneration gas method.
