Chemical properties
Colorless gas, non-combustible and non-combustible. Can absorb X-rays. Gas relative density 3.736 (-152.9℃), liquid relative density 2.155. Melting point -156.6℃, boiling point (-152.3±1.0)℃. Critical temperature -63.81℃, critical pressure 55×105Pa. It has properties such as high density, low thermal conductivity and high transmittance.
Uses
It is widely used in the electronics industry, electric light source industry, and also used in gas lasers and plasma streams. Compared with argon-filled bulbs of the same power, bulbs filled with pure krypton have the advantages of high luminous efficiency, small size, long life, and energy saving. It is widely used in the manufacture of mining lamps. Due to its particularly high transmittance, it can be used to manufacture off-road vehicle irradiation lamps and aircraft runway indicator lights during night battles. It is used in medical and health care to measure cerebral blood flow. Its isotopes can be used as tracers. Radioactive krypton can be used for leak detection in closed containers and continuous measurement of material thickness. It can also be made into atomic lamps that do not require electrical energy. In addition, Kr86 is used for international benchmark calibration of length, and Kr<85> is used for "kryptonization" of materials.
Preparation method
1. Extract krypton from synthetic ammonia tail gas. The process of extracting argon from synthetic ammonia tail gas produces a mixture of krypton and xenon as by-products. After distillation, washing, deoxygenation, adsorption and desorption, 99% krypton gas can be obtained.
2. Air separation method: extract krypton and xenon mixed gas from the air separation unit. After extracting lean krypton, removing hydrocarbons and carbon dioxide, and separating, 99.99% pure krypton is obtained.
3. Extract krypton from nuclear reactor fission gas. Comprehensively utilize the radioactive Kr85 in the cracking waste gas of the nuclear reactor.
4. The industrial method is the absorption method of Freon solvent.
5. It is obtained by fractionating liquid air in industry.
